ICM 32019 DH.82A Tiger Moth 1/32 – Plastic Model Kit

The ICM 32019 DH.82A Tiger Moth 1/32 model kit is a carefully designed set that allows every aviation enthusiast to build a faithful replica of one of the most important training aircraft of the 20th century. The model is produced in the popular and impressive 1/32 scale, which guarantees a high level of detail and makes it perfect for display on dioramas and model layouts.

  • Scale: 1/32
  • Material: high-quality plastic
  • Category: plastic model kit
  • Additional elements: no metal, resin, or photo-etched parts included in the set

The De Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth was a training biplane developed for the Royal Air Force. Its maiden flight took place in 1931, with series production beginning in 1932. The aircraft featured a simple and durable design, making it ideal for training both beginner pilots and those preparing for combat flights. By the end of World War II, more than 8,000 Tiger Moths had been produced, serving not only in Great Britain but also in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

The Tiger Moth was of greatest importance during World War II, when hundreds of Allied pilots made their first flying steps on it. Highly characteristic of British training airfields, it was operated by the RAF and the air forces of Commonwealth countries. In many nations, it remained in service long after the conflict ended, also with civilian aviation.

The ICM 32019 kit enables reproduction of the aircraft’s slender silhouette and subtle structural details, including the engine and pilot cabins. It is an excellent choice for both moderately advanced and experienced modelers interested in classic military aviation. The assembly difficulty is rated at 3/5: the model requires precision and patience, but shouldn't pose a challenge to those with experience in building large-scale kits.

I recommend this set to all enthusiasts of World War II aviation, especially fans of training aircraft. The model serves as an excellent base for improvement and can be a key element of airfield dioramas or a classic RAF aircraft collection.

Scale
1/32

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
