Montex MM48567 FAIREY GANNET AS1/AS4 for AIRFIX 11007 1/48 – professional painting masks

Montex MM48567 is a set of high-quality modeling masks dedicated for the plastic model of the Fairey Gannet AS1/AS4 aircraft in 1/48 scale by Airfix (item no. 11007). This product was created for the most demanding modelers who wish to achieve a perfect paint result on the canopy glazing and national/tactical markings of their model.

The Fairey Gannet was a British carrier-based anti-submarine warfare aircraft, used mainly by the Royal Navy during the Cold War era. Its first flights took place between 1949 and 1959, and for many years, this aircraft was an important element of naval aviation, operating from famous British aircraft carriers. The Fairey Gannet was most commonly seen over the North Sea and the Atlantic, and also participated in peacekeeping operations in conflict zones.

  • Category: Model accessories – painting masks
  • Scale: 1/48
  • Material: Professional matte and semi-transparent flexible modeling film
  • Set Includes: Canopy painting masks (external and internal), national, numerical and tactical markings masks (depending on the set version: Mini Mask, Maxi Mask, Super Mask)
  • Compatibility: Airfix 11007

The masks offered in the Montex MM48567 set are extremely flexible and adhere perfectly even to very curved surfaces, guaranteeing precise reproduction of canopy frame details. The film is semi-transparent, which facilitates application, while the gentle yet strong adhesive does not strip paint and ensures mask stability. Importantly, the masks have been designed to minimize the need for liquid masks such as Maskol, accelerating and simplifying the entire painting process.

A unique feature of Montex products is the ability to mask the canopy frames also from the inside – this innovative solution allows you to achieve an effect just like on the original aircraft.

The set is recommended for both intermediate and advanced modelers (difficulty level 2/5), who appreciate the highest level of realism and workmanship for 1/48 scale models. An excellent choice for building exhibition-grade aircraft models in the context of British Cold War aviation.

Scale
1/48

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
