Eduard 7077 F6F-5 (1/72) – Plastic Model Kit of the American Carrier-Based Fighter Aircraft

Eduard 7077 F6F-5 is a high-quality plastic model kit representing the legendary American carrier-based fighter Grumman F6F Hellcat in the F6F-5 version, offered in the popular 1:72 scale. The model is designed for those who appreciate precise detail reproduction and the opportunity to build realistic military aviation miniatures. The product does not include glue or paints – these items must be purchased separately, allowing modelers to individually select their materials. This kit is dedicated to both intermediate and advanced aircraft modeling enthusiasts.

History of the Original

The Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat is an American single-seat carrier-based fighter designed at the end of World War II to ensure air superiority over the Pacific. It entered service in 1943 and formed the backbone of the US Navy's carrier air force. The main battlefields for this aircraft were in the Pacific – from the Battle of the Mariana Islands, through the invasion of the Philippines, to the fighting near Okinawa between 1943 and 1945. The F6F-5 version, being an improved and more robust variant of its predecessor, featured better armor, stronger armament, and increased use of radar. The aircraft served until the end of World War II in both the US Navy and the Royal Navy.

Scale
1/72

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
