SMS Viribus Unitis was the flagship dreadnought battleship of the Austro-Hungarian Imperial and Royal Navy. The ship was launched in 1911 and served during World War I in the Adriatic Sea. It became known for participating in the blockade of Cattaro and as the flagship during the struggle for control of the Adriatic Sea. It was mainly used for deterrence and securing maritime traffic. Its dramatic end came in 1918 when it sank as a result of an attack by Italian frogmen using the “Yellow Submarine” type.
