Fujimi 723273 RF-4E Phantom II 1/72 – Plastic Aircraft Model Kit

The Fujimi 723273 RF-4E Phantom II model in 1/72 scale is a high-quality plastic miniature of one of the most important reconnaissance aircraft of the Cold War era. The RF-4E Phantom II, developed by the American company McDonnell Douglas, was delivered primarily to European and Asian countries. The largest operators were Germany (RF-4E Luftwaffe), Greece, Turkey, Israel, and Japan. The model offered by Fujimi excellently replicates the lines, details, and character of this aircraft variant.

The RF-4E version was designed for reconnaissance missions and, unlike the fighter F-4 variants, was not equipped with fixed armament. Instead, it featured advanced aerial observation and photography systems. RF-4E aircraft were intensively used during the 1970s and 1980s, although in most countries they remained in service until the early 21st century. They were used during the Cold War for strategic and tactical reconnaissance, as well as in various regional conflicts—for example, in reconnaissance operations over the Middle East.

The presented model is intended for self-assembly and does not include glue or paints. The kit consists of precisely cast plastic parts that ensure a realistic appearance of the finished miniature. Among the details, we find, among others, a fuselage with faithfully reproduced panel lines, canopy glazing, reconnaissance panels, and side weapons pylons.

  • Scale: 1/72 – ideal for collecting or building dioramas with other Cold War-era model equipment
  • Category: Plastic aircraft model kit
  • Material: high-quality plastic ensuring durability and ease of processing
  • Countries of use: Germany, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Japan
  • Historical period: Cold War, modern times
  • Accurate replication of the surface and details of the reconnaissance aircraft

The Fujimi 723273 RF-4E Phantom II model is especially recommended for intermediate modelers and all military aviation enthusiasts of the postwar period. The detailing and casting quality make it a satisfying project for both experienced modelers and those who wish to improve their skills.

Assembly difficulty level: 3/5 – requires precision, but the clear instructions guide you through each stage of the build.

An excellent choice for a collection of Cold War reconnaissance and combat models and as an addition to historical dioramas.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
