Dragon 6856 German SU-76i with Cupola 1/35 – Plastic model kit

Dragon 6856 German SU-76i with Cupola 1/35 is a high-quality plastic model kit representing the German version of the captured SU-76i self-propelled gun, equipped with the characteristic German commander's cupola. This model from the renowned Dragon brand has been crafted with great attention to detail, making it an excellent choice for both advanced modelers and enthusiasts of WWII armored vehicles.

The SU-76i was a captured conversion of the Soviet SU-76 self-propelled gun, which was rebuilt by the Germans between 1943–1944 using captured T-70 chassis, transforming them into vehicles intended to support infantry. It was characterized by the installation of German optical devices and—in selected examples—the aforementioned commander's cupola, offering much better battlefield visibility. The SU-76i was primarily used on the Eastern Front, where artillery support and improvised combat vehicles were often in high demand.

  • Scale: 1/35 – a faithfully reproduced vehicle miniature in the popular modeling scale
  • Country of use: Germany (Third Reich)
  • Historical period: World War II, mainly 1943–1944
  • Material: High-quality plastic (polystyrene)
  • Additional elements: The kit includes sprues with finely molded details, photo-etched parts to enhance surface detail, individual-link plastic tracks, and decals with historical markings for several vehicles!
  • Category: Plastic model kit

The Dragon 6856 model stands out for its precise part engineering, realistic textures, and excellently reproduced details such as the cupola, hinges, rivets, and pioneer tools on the hull. The assembly instructions are clear, allowing even intermediate modelers to construct the model. This kit is ideal both for collections of German armored vehicles and for themed dioramas from the Eastern Front.

We particularly recommend it to armored vehicle enthusiasts and WWII model collectors. The assembly difficulty is rated at 3/5 – the set is intended for those with basic modeling experience, but thanks to the clear instructions, ambitious beginners should also handle this project without issue.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
