Aires 4381 J35Ö Draken Cockpit Set 1/48 Hasegawa – advanced cockpit set for the Swedish fighter model

Presenting the unique Aires 4381 J35Ö Draken cockpit set 1/48, designed for Hasegawa 1:48 scale models. This is a top-class accessory dedicated to modelers aiming to recreate the cockpit details of the J35Ö Draken fighter, one of the iconic Swedish aircraft of the Cold War era, with the highest precision. Manufactured by the renowned company Aires, famous for its excellent quality resin models and accessories.

Historical and Technical Information

The training and combat variant J35Ö Draken was developed as a result of licensed production and further development of the Swedish Saab J35 Draken fighter by Austria. This aircraft stands out with its characteristic delta wing configuration and was widely used by both the Swedish and Austrian air forces during the Cold War. The J35 entered service in the mid-1960s and remained active until the 1990s, mainly as an interceptor. It participated in numerous NATO exercises and maneuvers, as well as patrolling the neutral airspace of Sweden and Austria during the hottest periods of Cold War tension.

Product Features

  • Scale: 1/48
  • Designed for: Hasegawa J35Ö Draken models
  • Original countries of use: Sweden, Austria
  • Historical period: Cold War (1960s–1990s)
  • Material: high-quality resin
  • Set components: complete pilot’s seat, instrument panels, control stick, side cockpit details, instrument board, small detail parts (incl. regulators, switches, levers)
  • Set compatible with decals and photo-etched parts

As a resin model, the Aires 4381 set provides a much higher level of detail than standard plastic components of the base kit. Perfectly reproduced textures, intricate buttons, and finely cast lines are the key to achieving realism in the modeling market. The set does not include metal add-ons but allows integration with photo-etched details (available separately).

Advantages and Purpose

We recommend this product to intermediate and advanced modelers (assembly difficulty: 4/5) who aim to faithfully recreate the Draken cockpit. Aires 4381 not only enhances visual value but also allows you to achieve a museum-quality level of realism. The set is an excellent choice for dioramas, competition models, and military aviation collections.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
